Charles A. Sholtis: Biography
Charles A. Sholtis, a distinguished leader in the plastics industry, graduated from Villanova University in 1983. Following his graduation, he served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy Pacific Fleet until 1986 where he honed his leadership and strategic skills.
Sholtis began his civilian career in sales, where his talent for business development and client relations made a positive impact. His exceptional performance led him through the ranks, culminating in his role as CEO and owner of Plastic Molding Technology (PMT Inc) in El Paso, Texas, a position he held until the sale of the business in 2021.
Under Sholtis’ leadership, PMT achieved significant milestones, including ISO14000, and TS16949 quality registration. PMT also was named Manufacturer of the Year in 2014 and received the Society of Plastics Engineers Business Management Award in 2015, Export Achievement Award in 2016, and Inc. 5000 in 2019. His strategic vision and commitment to excellence in safety, workforce development, and customer focus propelled the company to the forefront of the industry.
Sholtis also contributed to the broader plastics industry by serving on various boards such as the Manufacturers Association of Plastics Processors, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the Connecticut Plastics Council, the Plastic Industry Association, and Texas (MAC). His involvement in these organizations underscored his dedication to advancing the field of manufacturing.
In 1993 he received an MS in Business Management from RPI Hartford Graduate Center Corporate Fellows.
Beyond his professional achievements, Sholtis is known for his philanthropic efforts and community involvement, supporting causes related to poverty, health, and veterans. He enjoys family time, travel, time on the water, reading, and fishing.
